Protect your privacy online

To prevent everyone that has your email from finding out everything you participate in online, use a separate email to sign up for online services. Then set up that email to automatically forward to your main email address. This will prevent people from finding you in address book/email searches that are increasingly available on social networking sites since your sign up email won’t be in their address book.

Organize Internet workflow

When you are on the Internet, develop an organized bookmark system for your most frequently used websites. Don’t rely on your memory to get you back – just use bookmarks to click and go. Consider how you organize your main computer directories and use a similar system for bookmarks. For instance, create directories for work resources, employment sites, reference materials, etc. Use these for internal computer locations too, like computer locations for big projects and department sites.

Print multiple pages on a single sheet

To print multiple pages on a single page in Microsoft Word go to File > Print > Properties > Layout tab > Pages per sheet from drop down menu select number of pages you want to print on a single page and press OK.

Easy access to contacts in cellphone

If you send a lot of SMS messages, and your cellphone doesn’t have the feature of fast contacts, one thing to do is add spaces to the beginning of the names of people you message the most. Your boyfriend/girlfriend would have 3 spaces before their names, your parents would have 2, your close friends would have one. This automatically puts them on top of the contact list for easy access.
